Vacation Time: Sunrise by the Sea - 2

The trip overnight was a peaceful one. Some bumpy ride experience along the way was tolerable and all throughout the trip that night was totally calm.

It is my habit to wake up early in the morning whenever I am on a trip and this one was no exception. At dawn break, I was already up. I would always love to experience sunrise and feel the rays of the morning sun touching my face. It is always a delightful experience which I ignore the moment I am preoccupied with work.

Anyway, I was dismayed with what I saw. I thought that we will have a cloudy day ahead of us because of the pile of clouds over a particular place.

But heaven was good. After several minutes, the promise of a beautiful day started to show up. And I was thankful.

I was praying to have a glimpse of the rising sun and to capture its greatness this part of the day. And my prayer had been answered. The clouds simply disappeared from our sight and the morning sun wowed us that day.

And aside from a great sunrise experience, I was also hoping to see some big fishes racing with the ship which I experienced before. But this time, there was no sighting. I simply contented my self in watching the waves made by the ship. Though I was continuously hoping that something might show up along the way. Hoping ...

Destination: Coron, Palawan - 2

While the ship was still docked, I moved around. I usually do this thing in order to kill time and most importantly, to know my way around especially when emergency situations will arise.

I usually encountered people who love to spend their time on the view deck rather than lying down. And a good view from the ship is where you can see the water and the sky.

Well, I can't blame other people for simply lying down. Most probably, they are better off that way especially if they are not used traveling by sea.

But one good thing about taking the ship is that you can have a good night rest. You'll have a comfortable sleep instead that of a roro.

And when I travel, I used to wake up early and look forward to a beautiful sunrise. Way back in the city, I seldom noticed the sunrise nor experience a good one. Because most of the time, I wake up late. And again, this was one of those rare moments where I experienced the warmth of a rising sun. It was such a wonderful moment.

Storm-5

At times, the meaning of our existence are associated with earthly possessions that's why some of us do find it hard to recover when our precious possessions will be stripped away from us. We will soon find out that these material things we value dearly can be taken away from us with just the blink of an eye.

If our existence is not valued by these material things, it would be much easy for us to recover from any storms that will pass by. Just remember that in His own perfect time, whatever had been taken away from us if we'll keep our faith firm, then we will receive much more afterwards. It is just a matter of doing our part and patiently waiting for His grace to come.

And just like any storm, the trials that we experience today will come to pass. These storms are simply honing us for the better, depending on how we deal with them. And when the storms are over and when we learn how to stand our ground, only then we can smile back at our life. The sun could never be brighter after the storm.

A Moment of Solitude-3

And when you experience that wonderful morning, alone in solitude and witnessing the sun slowly rising in the east, it brings you closer to yourself. This is the kind of experience that we seldom encounter. And mind you, it will make you realize a lot of things especially those things you've missed and most probably, ignored.

Self realization is a journey towards acceptance and self healing. We cannot deny the fact that we have so many shortcomings but when we come to the point of accepting our weaknesses and failures, then, we come to terms with ourselves. And when we learn how to accept our limitations, it could be a start of a renewed existence.

A moment of solitude allows us to explore not the world around us but the world within us. It will make us realize so many things and most importantly, it will open our eyes to certain realities and perspective about who we really are and what we are. And when we set foot again to the adventures of life, our every journey now will have a deeper and worthwhile meaning.

A Moment of Solitude-2

They say that whenever you follow your heart, you can never be wrong. But is it wise to follow one's heart in making a tough decision? Or would you contemplate and act based on reasons and options? In most cases, it is really difficult to deliver a sound judgment the moment you step in that situation.

That's why it would be of big help to spend some time alone and ask for some heavenly guidance. We don't have to act and decide in a hurry if we still have doubts. It would be best to find ourselves first and pray for guidance. And when we can't decide after the much needed contemplation? We don't have to hurry.

They say that challenges are laid before us because heaven knows we can hurdle them. And when solutions to problems seem elusive, in His own perfect time, answers will be revealed. Probably, not today but in the coming days. All we have to do is to wait for that one perfect morning where our worries, just like the darkness, will be swept away by a clear and beautiful sunrise.
