Vacation Time: Beach Stroll - 12

We spent an afternoon enjoying a beach walk. Truly, this was a luxury of time for a city dweller like me.

Well, my purpose here was to enjoy a Christmas break and this was one fun-filled afternoon to enjoy it.

It was an invigorating activity, free from the hustle of the city life. No pollution, just fresh air. No irritating noise, only the enticing waves splashing on the shore.

It was indeed a perfect opportunity to simply kill the time but at the same time, we were enjoying every moment of it.

As I watched the gentle waves curled and raced to the shorelines, I saw my city life just like that - always in a hurry to get somewhere but not getting anywhere.

Vacation Time: The Beach - 11

Since we are not that far from the beach, our vacation would never be complete if we would not be able to experience a morning swim.

We do have a luxury of going to the beach because we don't have resorts here. It's a swim all you like activity.

Aside from swimming, a fresh morning catch is also worth the wait. You'll simply have to wait for the fishermen to arrive and divide their shares, and you can buy something out of their share. That is, if the catch is enough.

But that morning, the catch would only be enough for their family for the rest of the day. Anyway, by early evening, some of them would go to the town and they would roam the streets selling their catch. And we'll wait by then.

Vacation Time: Boats and Bancas - 4

Passengers would rush from one side to the other especially if we pass along people who rode boats or bancas.

I greatly admire the fishermen who explore the vastness of the sea to earn their living. And even to the point of doing their fishing expeditions to where big ships sail just to increase their catch.

Actually, fishermen riding small bancas don't mind likewise on how far they were from the nearest coast line. Well, the weather was good and it pose no threat to their safety. Anyway, they are experienced swimmer and the sea is already part of their life.

I asked Jeff if it would be okay for him to ride a banca this part of the sea. Little did I know that the sea makes him uncomfortable. He can swim a little but not that good. And he is not confident enough to survive the waters in case something will go wrong. Knock on wood.

And he is not alone. Hehe

Getaway-2

Having fun is indeed a delight when you are exploring the world. Deep inside, you feel proud and privileged every time there is an opportunity to be out there and have fun. The common every day existence is now filled with excitement and joy and it really rejuvenates one's spirit.

As you leave the busy streets of the Metro, you will be overwhelmed by the embrace of the countryside. No traffic, no pollution, no noise. It would be such a relief when you can feel the fresh air in your face and you can drown yourself with the fresh air filling your lungs. It is really a free treat for an urban folk to enjoy.

And as you spend a worry-free day with nature, you can't help but to thank this little extravagance. A kind of extravagance that you will like to enjoy every now and then as a reward to thyself. I guess and it is but just right that we need to pamper ourselves with this kind of experience in order to relieve ourselves with the everyday stress in our workplace. This kind of getaway is actually reaching out to our inner self, allowing us to recharge our body and spirit. May be through this experience, we will have better perspective of our own existence.

Getaway-1

It's been a while since I pack my backpack and skip town for another getaway. Work devours most of my time (of course, I have to earn a living). If not working, I spend most of my time watching movies or sleeping. I really don't eat much if I am home and inactive. When someone will invite me for a little trip elsewhere, my spirit rekindles. Yes, I am always looking forward for an out-of-town adventure.

A new and refreshing environment definitely nourishes my spirit. The mere fact that I don't see and experience it everyday awakens my senses. It is a kind of delight that brings excitement to my very soul. And I don't mind being away from home for some time.

The trip need not be expensive. If you are adventurous enough, you don't have to call a travel agency. Actually, it is more fun going out there by yourselves. Of course, you should be free spirited and must be prepared for any kind of adventure along the way. The best adventure starts when you can't see a trail anymore. But we need to be cautious and safeguard ourselves while having fun.

Fishermen
