Destination: Coron, Palawan - 1
When I learn to love going places, part of my wish list is to visit Palawan. With all its beautiful tale, wonderful stories, and captivating postcards, I find myself wishing for that day that I can finally set foot on this part of the country.
Upon learning that the staffs of my college were making preparations for a Palawan trip, I asked if I can tag along and they heartily accommodated me. Though I barely knew the group but since I happened to know and work with some of them, I did not have this kind of reservation that I will be a total stranger with them. In fact, it will give me more opportunity to know more of them and to know them better.
In going to Palawan, we boarded a super ferry boat - Our Lady of Good Voyage. Travel time would be 12 hours. To some, it would be their first ever boat ride whereas for me, I am already used to this kind of ride. Summer time would be a perfect season to travel by sea because it is less turbulent.
At the pier, I was able to took a picture of superferry 9. The ship sank at the Zamboanga peninsula last September 6, 2009 and this kind of news make some people fear sea travel.
Anyway, during that time, the landcrew were giving the ship a facelift. Definitely, the ship had been out to the sea for quite a long time already. For this reason, it is but just fitting to give it a new look - even a surface restoration only.
